Chapter 7

Disobedience

Frank headed back to the home where he and his fellow Sect leaders stayed.

Frank walked in the door, and Walter charged at him, knocking him to the ground. He started to beat Frank, getting several punches in before Alec roared into the room, all mouth. “To the meeting room, now!”

He pushed Walter off him and said, “What is your problem man?” as he did what Alec said, following his attacker down into the secret room again, the one meant to be just big enough to hold the entire Sect. It was actually 10 strong, including them, but there had been little reason to call on their inferiors since they came to the academy.

Despite their calling to this life, nothing ever happened. Not until now.

“You were told not to go near her and you went against Alec’s orders!” Walter bellowed, and Frank could almost feel his pain. Of course, it was about her. He had seen her for himself, touched her. Why wouldn’t this be about Naydeen? She was worth even a fight with his own brother, even if he was typically more level headed than that.

“And here I was thinking Frank was the good one,” Darius said with a chuckle, settling into the corner and watching the whole thing as if it were wildly entertaining.

“You haven’t seen her. You don't know. Not yet,” Frank growled, finding himself more possessive than he was used to. Like she’d marked him with only her presence, standing next to him.

“Yet?” Alec asked, feebly quite with it, his eyes burning into Frank’s. It made him feel small in that way only the alpha could. “We all agreed to stay away from her. I commanded it!”

Walter ignored what Alec was saying and continued to glare daggers at Frank. “You knew what I was feeling for her. You all do and, still you went after her,” Walter accused angrily.

“I don't understand what’s made the two of you so crazy over this girl. So disobedient.”

“Of course, you do!” Walter raged, striding quickly at Alec, to pick another fight. Frank and Darius both abandoned their own emotions to keep him from it. Frank didn’t want to see Walter get his ass handed to him by their alpha, when they needed to calm down and figure this out. It had been Frank’s entire reasoning.

“I saw the way he looked at her,” Walter whined, finally calming down. “So, three of us feel it now.” It sounded like resignation.

“So, I went to meet her. I had to see for myself if it was true. I had to investigate.” And I must admit, I literally couldn’t help myself. And when she came over near the barrier, she’d felt me there. She recognized me. We dream fasted, Alec. It means something. That and the fact I know I heard the voice of Marvius calling to her. You can’t play like you don't feel anything anymore.” Frank said, though much calmer than Walker ever could.

“Is that true, Frank?” Alec commanded.

The others looked on at the exchange between Alec and Frank.
